If you are a visitor to New Zealand or a Kiwi wanting to make sure you 'do the right thing', you can:

Plan and prepare by using the tips and advice on the www.adventuresmart.org.nz website.
Familiarise yourself with the appropriate Safety Codes for the activity you are undertaking.
Tell someone – complete the 'Outdoors Intentions' process prior to embarking on any land-based trip.
Look up what Emergency Communications are available and appropriate for your chosen activity.
Look at Training and Education section and take a course and increase your knowledge and skills
